1955 - 1964 Period: Building Socialism in the North
Context: The sector strived in emulation and creativity to ensure smooth maritime traffic, contributing to the economic recovery of the North and supporting the South. Key Events: 1958: Ty Hoa Dang (Department of Lighthouses) renamed Ty Hai Dang. March 26, 1961: Ty Hai Dang renamed Ty Bao dam hang hai (Maritime Safety Department). Achievements: Labor Hero title for Mr. Phung Van Bang (1962). Third-class Labor Order for Nam Trieu Light Station (1961 and 1963).

1965 - 1975 Period: Opposing the Blockade of the North, Supporting the South

1965 - 1975 Period: Opposing the Blockade of the North, Supporting the South
Context: The sector resiliently fought the blockade, pioneered in mine clearance, and opened channels together with the nation to defeat the war of destruction. Activities: From July 1965: Established a Self-Defense Battalion with 913 soldiers (over 63% of personnel), organizing 64 mine observation stations. Observed and marked 6,798 mines, directly cleared 1,098, and neutralized 18. Outstanding Achievements: Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the Maritime Safety Department Self-Defense Battalion (1973). Labor Hero title for Long Chau Island Light Station (1973). Ho Chi Minh Prize in Science and Technology (Magnetic mine and field bomb clearance project 1967-1972). Various classes of Labor, Victory, and Resistance Orders.

Context: Facing difficulties from war consequences and the subsidy mechanism, yet maintaining hundreds of rational improvement initiatives to ensure maritime safety. Key Events: January 3, 1983: Maritime Safety Department renamed Maritime Safety Company I. Achievements: First-class Labor Order (1981). Labor Hero title for Nam Trieu Light Station (1985).

1990 - 2004 Period: Renovation, adapting to Market Mechanism
Context: Transitioning from an administrative agency to economic accounting, investing in infrastructure, and expanding international cooperation. Key Events: 1990: Became an official national member of the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA). October 28, 1994: Merged Maritime Safety Company I and II into Vietnam Maritime Safety. Achievements: Third-class Independence Order (1995), Second-class (2000). Labor Orders for Thanh Nien Island and Hon Dau Island.

Context: Rejuvenating the workforce, actively applying science and technology, and innovating. Key Events: July 4, 2005: Split into Maritime Safety Company I and Maritime Safety Company II. May 28, 2010: Maritime Safety Company I transitioned to Northern Vietnam Maritime Safety One Member Co., Ltd. May 27, 2011: Established Parent Company - Northern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation. October 24, 2011: Transferred 4 regional Maritime Pilotage companies in the North to become member units. Achievements: First-class Independence Order (2010). Hero of the People's Armed Forces for Northern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation (2011).
